Alyssa is an only child of a single mother. Alyssa and her mother live in Barangay Pinagbuhatan which is one of the biggest slum areas in Pasig City. Despite their small house they were kind to share their home with one more family. Alyssa’s mother is self-employed and she tries to make a living by supplying glass windows and putting up a small neighborhood sundry store. She has no fixed income since she a freelancer who earns based through commission. Alyssa has no contact with her father. Her father has not been supporting her education and her daily needs. Alyssa’s mother is looking forward to her being granted with an Educational Sponsorship this coming school year to be able to continue her improving learning abilities.
